On June 22, 2014, more than 230 parents, faculty members, community members, donors and students gathered at Vancouver Talmud Torah to ceremoniously mark the official start of the VTT campus expansion. This was a milestone moment in our school’s history. Read all about the event in the Jewish Independent.
VTT Bus: JCC Bus Service
With congestion along Oak Street at record highs and with an eye toward environmental stewardship, VTT’s bus service aims to make the commute from school to the JCC as convenient and worry-free as possible.
- Cost per ride is $1.50
- Priority seating to JCC after school care students
- Bus departs VTT at 3:35 p.m. SHARP!
- If a student will not ride the bus as scheduled, the school office must be notified by email ONLY (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than 12:00 noon on the day of travel. A ride will be considered cancelled only when a confirmation email from the office is sent to the parent.
- School bus service starts the afternoon of Wednesday, September 6th, with seats allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Thank you to all the parents who enthusiastically supported the 2013-14 VTT Yearbook.

Shanah Tovah from the VTT Campus Campaign
With Rosh Hashanah almost upon us, we wanted to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a sweet new year and to provide you with an update about the expanded and revitalized Vancouver Talmud Torah.
We are only $400,000 away from our campaign goal, with new gifts still coming in every week. We are working hard to cross the finish line so we can secure the extraordinary lead gift of the campaign’s last $5 million from the Gordon and Leslie Diamond Family. That will take us to $20 million and put us in a position to break ground on the new school in June 2014.
In addition to the continued success of the campaign, construction of the shared, underground parkade with Congregation Beth Israel is progressing well, and we look forward to its timely completion. Have a look at these pictures to get a sense of how much has been accomplished on the parkade.
VTT continues to build on its success, with enrollment this year of 510 students; a fresh and modern new logo; accreditation for acceptance in the Canadian Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) underway; outstanding returning and new faculty; strong secular, Judaic and extracurricular programming, and much, much more.
While exciting, VTT’s success continues to put considerable pressure on its aging infrastructure. It is for this reason, and for the future of our community, that the VTT Campus Campaign must succeed. Every gift to this campaign matters and makes a difference, and never more so than now. If you have not made your commitment, please call 604-736-7307 x 3478 or email email@example.com today to be part of this once-in-a-generation initiative. For the many donors and families who have already made their gifts, todah!
Out of respect and support for the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver’s Annual Campaign, we will be going quiet for the next three months. We encourage you to also support the Federation’s Campaign, which raises critically needed operating funds for so many important agencies in our community. (This, of course, includes VTT and we hope you will direct your new or increased Campaign Plus gift to VTT.)
We look forward to connecting with the community in the coming months and wish you much peace, prosperity and happiness in the year ahead.
The VTT Campus Campaign Team
We are excited to announce that the 2012-13 VTT Yearbook is ready for pick up! A table will be set up in the foyer after school today and early next week (both during drop off and pick up times) to collect pre-ordered copies.
We have extra copies available for those who wish to purchase a copy ($20). The yearbook is a terrific family keepsake and a great way to remember the school year.
